SSamzie Space is proud to present the exhibition XEN: Migration, Labor and Identity, by Yong Soon Min, a U.S. based Korean American artist and curator, August 13 - September 18, 2004. In this exhibition, including her performance with Allan deSouza, a Kenyan-born artist with a British background, Min addresses issues of migrant labor that affect the Korean economy and culture at large, and compares the recent foreign migration of labor into Korea with the long history of Korean emigration. Through multi-media installations, incorporating video, photography, and sculpture, the exhibition explores the relationship of identity to migration particularly with regards to Korean responses to foreign migrant workers.
